The ICGP Annual Conference 2019 will take place in the National Convention Centre on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th of May. The conference theme is A Healthier Future for General Practice and I hope that you and members of your practice team will be able to attend.

Highlights of the Conference include the Foundation Lecture: The Art of Ignoring the Obvious, which will be delivered by Dr Austin O’Carroll. The Conference Forum is entitled – Shaping a healthier future for General Practice – with a panel of high profile speakers.  Other speakers presenting at this year’s conference include Professor Frank Murray, Chair of the RCPI Policy Group on Alcohol, Dr Michael Harty, Chair of Oireachtas Committee on Health and Dr Liam Farrell, author and columnist.

The programme will include a wide spectrum of workshops topics including:

  • Chronic Disease Management
  • Dermatology
  • Accessing Cross Border Healthcare
  • GP IT Updates
  • Assisted Decision Making (Capacity)  Legislation
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health

A lively and interesting social programme is also planned and will culminate with the Annual Conference Dinner on Saturday night.
