#BEaGP Success. Applications Increase Again.
Applications for training places on the four-year Training Programme for General Practice beginning in 2019 closed today (Thursday 16th November).
We’re delighted to be able to tell you that we received over 440 applications this year – 449 to be exact. It reminds us that there is really strong interest and support for careers in general practice, which provides a flexible and challenging career for our future doctors.
A lot of great work and support from GP trainees and trainers went into the application process, from our social media campaign on Facebook and Twitter #BEaGP to the time and effort of GP trainees in a range of training programmes around the country.
We would like to particularly thank the contributors to our #BEaGP video series – Dr Ahmeda Ali, Dr Máirtín O Maoláin, Dr Olivia Murphy, and Dr John Ball, whose testimonials to the four-year training programme were so beneficial to getting our message across.
For full details of our campaign, see the dedicated website www.beagp.com. And remember you can contact the College via that website if you are thinking of a career in general practice.
