Dr Sumi Dunne commended the people of Kildare, Laois and Offaly for their community spirit, and welcomed the new regulation that makes the wearing of face masks mandatory in public settings, describing it as “an excellent initiative.”
“Please do not ignore symptoms. GP’s doors will remain open, call ahead so we can take measures,” says Portarlington GP Dr Sumi Dunne, on RTÉ radio’s Morning Ireland.
Dr Dunne also warned that it was important to wear a face covering properly, and to ensure that the nose and chin were fully covered, and that pulling down a mask to the neck while talking or eating is not effective, and could lead to infection.
